Rick Appleby founded Strategic Planning Solutions in October of 2019, after six years with a business coaching firm where he successfully implemented EOS® in more than 60 companies, and coached more than 150. Prior to coaching, Rick enjoyed a highly successful business career, which included Senior Executive roles with Fortune 500 companies, such as Compaq/Hewlett Packard and Foxconn. As VP of Manufacturing and Chief of Staff for Foxconn, Rick was responsible for all North American Manufacturing for Hewlett Packard, IBM, Lenovo, and others, managing a business unit representing revenue in excess of $3B. He then held the role of International Director and Head of Americas Operations for Elcotec, a $5B global contract manufacturing business from Finland, with multi-site responsibility. In 2008, Rick joined Dedicated Computing, a Milwaukee-based company that designs and manufactures computing solutions for Military, Medical, Security, and Oil Exploration, as COO. In this role, Rick was responsible for all Operations functions, including Design/Sustaining Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Logistics, Customer Service, and Program Management.

Entrepreneurship

Rick founded Texan Tailgaters, Inc., a highly-successful independent business. The business was recognized in national TV and Print Media, including articles in the Wall Street Journal, American Express Travel Magazine, and numerous Houston and surrounding area newspapers.

Personal Life

Rick resides in the Lake Country area and is actively involved in and supportive of numerous Church and Civic organizations, including Oconomowoc Lakewalk for Cancer, where he led the top-fundraising team three consecutive years. Above all, Rick is proud of his work with Ronald McDonald House, the Bread of Life Ministry, the Waukesha Food Pantry, and the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, because it has allowed him to care for for the elderly, homeless, and those in need of support while dealing with sickness. His impact extends internationally through a mission trip to Nairobi, Africa. Rick is happily married to his wife Dianne, and between them, they have 8 children and 14 grandchildren. He was originally born in Kentucky and is an avid Wildcats fan. He spent nearly 20 years in the Houston area before moving to Wisconsin in 2008. In his spare time, he enjoys sporting events, golf, sports cars, cooking, boating, and traveling with his wife and family.
